Northwich Workhouse, now Weaver Hall Museum, was built in 1839 in response to the requirements of the Poor Law Act of 1834 which laid down the system of poor relief in England & Wales. Graham will take us through it’s fascinating history exploring the strict life inmates endured and their minute food rations.
