Title of Talk: The Cheshire Hoard
By Keith Lawrence
During the Civil War many rich people went to extraordinary way to hide their riches thinking they would be safe and some hoards were never retrieved by their owners.
Keith Lawrence from Nantwich Museum will explain how coins and other valuables, hidden during the Civil War, were discovered in several unlikely places, and how some were found in a most unusual place in Winsford. The Winsford hoard was found in a pot during construction work in Over in 1970. The hoard is now in the Grosvenor Museum in Chester.
